This story was about a virus which i was affected and led to loss of my data .
The virus was a video that said "I can't believe high school was so long ago! You really have the moves in this video!" - and it was from someone I went to high school with, so I clicked it. It launched a YouTube looking site but only after it started to load did I notice the URL was not YouTube but www.yuotube.com - at that moment the virus software on my PC sent up a warning box telling me that there was malicious software trying to gain access. But it was too late and I had to run a scan of my PC, which resulted in it telling me what the virus was named and where it was, but that it was unable to quarantine it, so I had to manually remove it and then my IE browser was disabled because the virus was attached to the proxy that lets my PC get to the internet. What's worse is that by clicking the link, the virus then had access to my Facebook address book and sent out a few different messages to people in my address book. Luckily I was able to put a warning in my status on F'book telling people not to open any videos from me. Long story short, huge pain in the butt.
Hi,
I'm very happy to tell you a story about my lost data.
three years ago, I had a small computer with 20Gb of Hard disk.
I maked to partition on my hard disk. One day, my operating system refuse to start and I decide to reinstall it but I don't knew how to reinstall an operating system.
I put a CD of XP in my computer and I restarted with that.
Unfortunately, when my computer asked if he must formated my hard disk, I accepeted and my hard disk has been formated in whole.
I lost all data in my hard disk, let me tell you, I was very sad this day.
This is my bad experience with lost data.
i want to share my real experience about losing data from the system. in my college days we need to do some microsoft powerpoint projects on selected topics. i got a project on the topic of agriculture. i went to rural areas and collected all pictures of agricultural crops in my camera. after reaching home i transferred the pictures to my computer and made some corrections to look like a project. and copied the entire project to my pen drive. and after going to college i kept the pen drive in my college computer to show the project to my friends. when i tried to open it showed a big list of harmful viruses and it requires to clean them. when i pressed ok the pen drive became empty. that means all the project that i have done was lost
In one of my earlier jobs, we used custom made software for issue of a certain kind of certificates. Once the detail of the certificate holders were entered and saved, it would generate a certificate with a number that is auto-generated. The data of certificate-holders were vital, as we had to verify the certificates for genuineness on request of others when these certificates were submitted to them by the certificate holders in support of their claim. As the software was being used for quite sometime, there was a good lot of data stored in the computer. One day, I was absent and the computer did not boot. Others in that section called one of the support personnel. As he was not warned by anybody, to start the computer, he just formatted the hard disk and reloaded the operating system. After that, our people could find neither the software nor the data of old certificates. When I came next day I found out what had happened. From an old copy of the software, it was installed and from old backup in CDs some of the data could be restored. Full recovery of data was not possible as they also did not take the backup in CDs for quite a few months. It was a serious loss of a good amount of data and a few of them had to face the consequences.
FIRST TIME I TRIED TO INSTALL A SOFTWARE BY CD AFTER INSERTING THE CD IN CD DRIVE MY SYSTEM WAS HANGED AND I NOT ABLE TO OPEN MY FILES AND FOLDERS.
In the old days of 5.5 inch floppy disks, I accidentally spilled Coca Cola on a disk which contained the only copy of a report that I had worked on for weeks. Desparate, I stuck it in the disk drive, and it made horrible noises as the computer labored to read it. I lucked out and brought it up on my screen, and quickly saved it. Later I tried to see if there was anything else on the disk, but it was trashed.

My hard disk was destroyed by a person who works as a hardware engineer. The pin of the hard disk was broken by him. So I cut a small piece of think safety pin and sticked it. The hard disk didn't work also. I had some software projects that I had to submit of the college. I sent my hard disk to the company repair center. My hard disk was ok but some data in it was deleted by them. I recovered the data using a free data recovery software called Pirform Recuva. I got all my deleted files.
